random creativity in the kitchen on a hot september day

music of the day:

It's been so0o0o hot these days. The sun needs to take a chill pill. It gets so hot that sometimes i dont feel like eating anything but taiwanese ice and watermelon juice...that is probably why i lost 5 pounds this week. The heat makes me lose my appetite when i think of oily foods, things heavy in sugar, heavy in flavor....

i just want everything light light light. and simple. and easy to toss...

still, must eat. My tummy has been singing a reminder for me not to forget it...and those who know me..know that i can never ignore my tummy.

there was not much in the kitchen....so i gathered together what would appeal to my taste buds: a can of tuna ( healthy, low in calories, omega 3...need i say more?), green onions, and a lime.

i made myself a little bowl from foil ( so i can toss it after im dont with it. no dishwashing) and put the can of tuna in and spread it into the foil bowl. After staring at what i put together, i decided....i need more stuff. but ill focus on these.

i tossed in some farmed clams, chopped up the green onions, put in a couple facial-paper thin shreds of salted butter, and sprinkled sliced of carrots. after looking at it, i thought "i want something light but not bland...need something more"

So i whipped miso paste, water, a little mayo and sugar together into a light cream.

i poured a layer of the miso-mayo whip onto my tuna and tossed it into the bake-oven for 10 minutes.

i suddenly thought of sushi ( which is always a good choice in the summer because its so light and refreshing) so i took out some dried seaweed and cut it up.

the kitchen started to smell lightly of miso and clams....my tummy was ready to break out into opera... et voila!

took my tuna out and placed my little seaweed cutouts on top. the heat and the moisture started making the ends of the cutout curl up like flowers...i didnt know that would happen! but..it was pretty~

dressed it with seaweed squares and a slice of lime to sprinkle ontop of my random creation.

need a side to balance it all out....seafood has a stronger taste..so....watermelon! sweet, refreshing, but not overpowering. perfect. and how ironic...i read an article on msn about the benefits of watermelon. LOL!

Bon Appetit! name it? it has no name. cuz...i myself have no idea what it is. Any name suggestions? but....i must say...it was really really good. and light. simple. and easy to toss after!

P.S. I am posting the link on the surprising benefits of viagra...i mean...watermelon.
